Our and your commitment can help improve the future of our planet.

Alfa Solare Group is constantly pushing its research toward increasingly high-performance materials, with the goal of improving the energy savings of thermal break windows and facades.

Throughout its 30-year history, Alfa Solare Group has certainly contributed to reducing energy consumption for heating and cooling by supplying millions of meters of Polyamide, ABS, TPE, PVC and foams to the market. But now all this is not enough and we need to go one step further.

Most of the energy used today is obtained from fossil fuels (oil, natural gas, coal), which means from nonrenewable sources of energy that are destined to be exhausted in shorter or longer periods of time. Sources of supply different from those listed are still not enough to secure our future from an energy viewpoint.

Alfa Solare Group’s technical department is at your complete disposal to study specific products with these characteristics.

We strongly believe that our and your efforts can also contribute to improving the future of our planet.

There are different types of recycling:

1. MECHANICAL RECYCLING

Mechanical recycling involves the mechanical transformation of plastic objects, collected as waste, into secondary raw materials for the production of new objects.
The quality of the products obtained will depend heavily on the quality of the selection performed on the product to be recycled.
For this reason, efforts are made to continuously improve the selection techniques of recycling materials in order to obtain increasingly “clean” fractions of homogeneous materials.
Alfa Solare makes products in which the content of recycled plastics can be as high as 100 percent, while not reducing the performance of the products themselves

2. CHEMICAL RECYCLING

Chemical recycling could lead us to an infinitely recyclable plastic. We can classify chemical recycling into 3 types:

a. Dissolution: from plastic waste to polymers
b. Depolymerization: from plastic waste to monomers
c. Conversion: from plastic waste to raw materials

3. APPROACH TO BIOMASS FOR A BIOBASED PRODUCT

Depending on the raw material used, “Bio Attributed (BA)” products can be obtained, which means they are made from bionaphtha produced from organic raw materials (e.g., vegetable oils), “Bio-Circular Attributed (BCA)” made from bionaphtha produced from organic and circular raw materials (e.g., Waste Fats), and “Circular attributed (CA)” made from circular raw materials (r-oil or oil from chemical recycling).

BA, BCA and CA raw materials can be used in production processes together with traditional raw materials.
To attribute sustainability characteristics to the final product, we have applied the mass balance approach, a recognized methodology that ensures that the sustainability characteristics of the alternative feedstock, blended with traditional naphtha, match those of the final product.

BA, BCA and CA products guarantee identical performance, quality and properties, not differing from standard products in terms of chemical composition and physical and mechanical performance.

In general, the use of organically derived products enables the production of products with a reduced carbon footprint for various application areas. In fact, if, for example, ABS with BA origin was used, it could save up to 55% Greenhouse Gas emissions compared to ABS with fuel derivatives, and up to 70% if used with BCA orgine.
